The amazing Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue is Bali’s most iconic landmark depicting the Hindu God Wisnu sitting atop the mythical eagle, Garuda. The Garuda is the national emblem of Indonesia, representing freedom from oppression. Standing at a towering height of nearly 400 feet, it is one of the tallest monumental statues in the world. This impressive structure stands in the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park where you will enjoy a welcome reception at Jendela Bali, an atmospheric restaurant that’s wrapped in a leafy open-air terrace revealing breathtaking views over Bali. Afterwards, you’ll visit Plaza Wisnu, to appreciate the magnificent view of Kuta, Benoa and Sanur before relishing a feast of Balinese delights. Enjoy cultural dance performances accompanied by the sounds of Nhã nhac or Royal Court Music, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. This unique artform reached the peak of development during the Nguyen Dynasty when emperors declared it as the official court music and became an essential part of royal palace rituals.
